TDSB Calls Education a Colonial Structure Centred on Whiteness

The radicals at the Toronto District School Board are at it again, reminding us all that “education is a colonial structure” and that “White Supremacy” must be dismantled in our schools.

Reading this latest document issued to teachers across the largest school board in Canada, the only thing that needs to be dismantled is the TDSB.

The Ford government isn’t ready to do that but they have told the board to stand down and withdraw the offending publication.

The new document, titled “Facilitating Critical Conversations,” should really be called “Facilitating Critical Race Theory” because that is what this is pushing.

For those of you who don’t spend your days thinking about abstract academic theories, and that would be most of you, critical race theory is a controversial Marxist theory that rejects concepts such as objectivity and truth based in knowledge. It is replaced by a system where identity, be it race, class or gender are placed at the centre of everything.

Once you understand that, it explains the radical concepts we see coming out of our schools across the country.

“Schooling in North America is inherently designed for the benefit of the dominant culture (i.e., white, middle-upper class, male, Christian, cisgender, heterosexual, able-bodied, neurotypical, etc.),” reads the latest document under a heading titled “Core Beliefs.”

“Education is a colonial structure that centres whiteness and Eurocentricity and therefore it must be actively decolonized,” the activist teachers behind the document write.

“White Supremacy is a structural reality that impacts all students and must be discussed and dismantled in classrooms, schools, and communities.”

All of these outrageous statements are listed as core beliefs of the TDSB.
