Series of Crimes Judge Called ‘The Worst of the Worst’ Lands Man Maximum Sentence: 240 Years in Prison

A man has been sentenced to 240 years in prison after a jury convicted him of two counts of murder, and one count each of attempted murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.
The series of crimes happened a year and a half ago in Floyd County, Ind., just over the Ohio River from Louisville, Ky.
Cherok Douglass was accused of shooting his wife, Brandee Douglass, to death in her car and then shooting a bystander, Lorin Yelle.
After that, he escaped in his wife’s car, police chased him, and he ended up crashing.
But Douglass ran away, into a wooded area and then into a restaurant {snip}
With his gun to a woman’s head, he ordered her to give him her car and when he started driving, he hit her while trying to escape again. This third victim survived {snip}
